Raj Singh was called to the Bar in 1992 by Gray's Inn. Having undertaken pupillage at the prestigious chambers of Anne Goddard Q.C. he continues to practice as well as head this company. He has been a member of the Bar for over a decade and has utilised his professional qualification as a Barrister for the full benefit of his clients and Singh (UK) Limited.
Following the granting of 'chartered' status Raj Singh was accepted as a Member of the Chartered Institute of Waste and Management in 2002. He proposes to contribute to the Institute official members journal and the annual IWM Exhibition and Conference.
Since August 1999 it became a legal requirement that licensed waste facilities designated a holder of a Certificate of Technical Competence (C.O.T.C.). Raj Singh was one of the first holders of a COTC and uniquely is the only lawyer in the UK to hold a comprehensive range of such qualifications. His Co-Directors are in the midst of securing theirs.
SINGH (UK) Limited (formaly Raj Singh & Company) joined the Association in mid - 2001. The Company regular utilises the services of the RHA to train its staff, maintain and monitor data, and ensure continuous professional development.
To effectively run a transport orientated company it is important to understand the industry both academically and practically. Certificates of Professional Competence are the required benchmark. These City & Guild qualifications were secured by all 3 directors to ensure compliance of the legislative management of Heavy Goods Vehicles as well as be in a position to be qualified Transport Managers and have a real 'hands-on' insight of the transport industry.
ISO Accredition
In January 2005 Singh (UK) Limited was awarded the internationally recognised standards pertinent to the Waste and Recycling industry for their environmental management systems - ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, thus reassuring their professional clients (e.g Local authorities and PLC's) of the highest level of service.
